Clara Early is a photographer, designer, and art director in New York. Now independent, moving deeper into wellness work on the design and art direction side.

Clara Early is a New York photographer and art director. NYU, agency work, a contract on Apple's website, and Fire of Love, which she carried as sole designer from Sundance to National Geographic to the Oscars. She came through Molly Powers with a strategy problem: photography and art direction had to live on one site without diluting a photographer's point of view, and she had hit Cargo's ceiling trying. Her own brief for it was a museum archive of everything she does.

I built the site to stay out of the way of the images. One archive with a taxonomy of Photography and Art Direction, so the two disciplines read as a single authored body of work. The frame carries only what a gallery wall would: her name, a live New York clock, a location, a low-light mode for viewing after dark. The statement runs in her words.
